Abstract: Southwest Sumba has a highly qualified cultural potential. Starting from the results of handicrafts in the form of Hinggi and Lau weaving, bead and metal jewelry, as well as Pasola traditional rituals. Unfortunately, it is still less prestigious than the potential in the East Sumba region. One of the unique works of Southwest Sumba is the static nuance and limited color. Increasingly crowded tourism efforts certainly raise the wheels of the people's economy. However, weaving and handicraft commodities in East Sumba are capable of producing better economic wheels than West Sumba. Although the Pasola ceremony is often held in Southwest Sumba and many tourists come, the handicrafts and weaving are underdeveloped and in demand by the market. In addition to supporting annual activities, the "Seniman Mengajar” program is expected to be able to develop craft products so that they are not lame with other regions. In addition, artistic collaboration is carried out more intensively, with dance artists and communities around the Sumba Cultural House through dance, costume and makeup arrangements.
