Seni kontemporer seringkali muncul karena respon terhadap dunia global yang memiliki budaya yang beragam dan teknologi yang maju. Seni kontemporer juga dapat menjadi cerminan atas masalah-masalah dunia modern yang kompleks saat ini. Termasuk di dalamnya seni yang terkait dengan perhiasan.

Perhiasan sendiri telah berevolusi dari waktu ke waktu. yang awalnya berfungsi sebagai tanda kekayaan ataupun perhiasan terkait kebutuhan agama atau tradisi tertentu telah berevolusi menjadi potongan-potongan yang hanya bersifat dekoratif akhirnya dianggap sebagai hiasan. Lebih jauh lagi perhiasan dapat dilihat juga sebagai bentuk ekspresi seni kontemporer. Terkait dengan material yang digunakan untuk mengekspresikan perhiasan tersebut menjadi bentuk seni kontemporer, Karya perhiasan ini mengambil material logam sebagai material utama penciptaan. Mengingat jenis logam dan sifat logam dapat mudah ditemui pada kehidupan sehari-hari saat ini. Selain itu juga dilakukan pengembangan pada bentuk, sebagai penyampaian pesan estetik bentuk yang kekinian.

Abstract: Contemporary art often arises because of the response to a globalized world that has a diverse culture and advanced technology. Contemporary art can also be a reflection of the complex problems of the modern world today. This includes art related to jewelry. Jewelry itself has evolved from time by time. Which originally functioned as a sign of wealth or jewelry related to certain religious or traditional needs, has evolved into only decorative pieces, and finally, are considered as ornaments. Furthermore, jewelry can also be seen as a form of contemporary art expression. Regarding the material used to express the jewelry into a contemporary art form, this jewelry work takes metal as the main material of creation.
